Chelsea are believed to complete the signing of Timo Werner this weekend after they have paid his £53 million release clause.
The German international is set to join the north London team as soon as the transfer window reopens once again.
Werner had an impressive season so far as he has netted 25 goals in 30 Bundesliga games.
Some reports claimed that Chelsea have agreed a deal with the 24-year-old for his move to Stamford Bridge, as his signing is due to be completed once the Blues triggered his £53m release clause.
And as it seems Lampard's side are going to do that this weekend as Werner's release clause expires on Monday.
Apparently, the transfer has been delayed due to the logistics of completing a medical with COVID-19 restrictions still in place.
Werner will become Frank Lampard second major signing after Chelsea signed Hakim Ziyech from Ajax for £37m in February.
But as it seems Lampard is still not done with the transfers.
Recently, Bayer Leverkusen midfielder and one of the top goalscorers in Germany, Kai Havertz has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.
However, signing Havertz might lead to selling two of Chelsea's key midfielders.
N'golo Kante and Jorginho are the both players at risk.
Kante has suffered with injuries just before the suspension of the season, while Jorginho had very difficult first season with the Blues.
However, it was reported that Chelsea are looking for a new goalkeeper as well as Kepa Arrizabalaga had a terrible season at Stamford Bridge.
Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana is reportedly the next summer target for the Blues.
Onana has said that he believes he is ready to say goodbye to Ajax as he is seeking a new challenge in his professional career.
The 24-year-old Cameroon goalkeeper's price is expected to be £35 million, but with the ongoing financial crisis we believe that his price might drop.
