The Premier League is undoubtedly one of the most competitive leagues in the world. Every year we witness all sorts of wonders from the players of the most competitive league in Europe. With the start of the new season, the hype is building among the fans and the football betting enthusiasts are already thinking on who to place their bet for the next top scorer of the league.
Every season there are many surprises when it comes to winning the Golden Boot, but we cannot expect less from a division in which the best attacking players in the world are playing. Last season was not an exception. Everyone believed that Mohamed Salah was going to be the Premier League top scorer of the season, but Harry Kane snatched a fantastic goal, which helped him win the Golden Boot. This season is going to be even more contested, so here is a list of the potential top scorers in the Premier League 2021/22 season.
Mohamed Salah is a player who always has to be considered as a top scorer. He is one of the best attacking players Liverpool has had in recent years. The Egyptian’s stats were just perfect in the last 2020/21 season, putting 50 shots on target. Salah’s conversion rate last season was one of the best from the Premier League goal scorers – 27%, even higher that Kane’s. Without a doubt, Mohamed Salah is a favourite to win the Golden Boot this season.
Hary Kane had a phenomenal season under the management of Jose Mourinho. He showed his class, winning not only the Golden Boot in the 2020/21 season, but also beating the Manchester City star, Kevin De Bruyne for most assists. Tottenham struggled for a short period of time last season, but the deadly partnership between Harry Kane and Son Heung-min helped them qualify for the Conference League. After the strong camping of Kane at the Euro 2020, the fans are now expecting him to have one hell of a season, no matter at which club he plays.
Only hearing the name of Bruno Fernandes and you know that there are going to be plenty of goals. Undoubtedly, Fernandes turned out to be Manchester United's best signing for many years. The Portuguese international netted 18 goals last season with a conversion rate of 21%. He made 12 assists in 37 matches, being level with KDB. The fans of the Red Devils couldn’t be more pleased with Fernandes’ stats during the previous season, but they expect even more from him in the upcoming campaign. Manchester United are about to boss the Premier League table next season with players like Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba and their newest signing, Jadon Sancho.
Believe it or not but we expect Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to be among the top five scorers of the Premier League once again, where he most certainly belongs. Auba had a difficult season. He scored only 10 goals in 27 games. Aubameyang is a player who is on a top level, give him the ball and watch him do miracles with it, but in the last campaign he lost his confidence for some reason and that reflected on his game. This season we believe that he is on the right track to get back in shape and to show to the fans what he is capable of.
Edinson Cavani is one of the best strikers in the world and Manchester United won the lottery signing him. Spending seven years with Paris Saint-Germain meant that it would be difficult for Cavani to adapt to the Premier League style of play, the Uruguayan quickly got used to it. He joined them in the winter transfer window and for the time he got Cavani became one of the top scorers in the league. For 26 games, Edinson Cavani scored 10 goals and he has the highest conversion rate from all Premier League players. This year we believe that he is going to be even better and with ease be one of the top five top scorers.
Of course, there are many other players who deserve to be included in the list for potential Golden Boot winners. Patrick Bamford for example is one of those players as he played 35 games for Leeds United and he is the sixth most scoring Premier League player for the last Season. Jamie Vardy is also a great footballer, who already won the Golden Boot in the 2019/20 season. Dominic Calvert-Lewin turned out to be Everton’s biggest star in the last season, netting 16 goals in 31 games. We are not forgetting Son Heung-Min, who had a conversion rate of 33% and scored 17 goals, but he also made 10 assists.
