Dele Alli scored from the penalty in the 50th minute to make the scoreline 1-1. Even though Tottenham got a point from last night game they were not able to cut the gap to the top four to just two points.
Spurs came into the game with four consecutive defeats and if it wasn't the penalty they were going to get five in a row. The hosts played very well and opened the scoreline after a fumble clearance by Hugo Lloris.
Burnley took the lead after Chris Wood's goal in the 13th minute.

After just five played minutes after the start of the second half Ben Mee mistimed his tackle and fouled Erik Lamela in the penalty box. Dele Alli converted from the spot and that gave the Spurs hope.
A few moments later a penalty for Burnley was denied after Davinson Sanchez barged into the back of Chris Wood. Burnley missed their golden opportunity to take advantage of the game after Matej Vydra shot straight at Lloris from close range.
After that 1-1 draw Tottenham are now four points behind the fourth in the table Chelsea, Arsenal are right behind Spurs with just one point. On the other hand Burnley now take the 10th place in the Premier League table and there is still chance for them to play in Europe next season.
Spurs lack of options.
We saw that Mourinho made six changes after the defeat against Wolves and he needs his players to be rested for the Champions League last-16 second leg with RB Leipzig.
Jose Mourinho lack of choice of a striker is obvious. Last night we saw Dele Alli play in that position because Mourinho don't have a lot of options.
Dele Alli is not the right option for that position because he was not able to manage with Burnley defenders.
Spurs didn't create enough chances in midfield and that let Burnley create chance after chance. It took Spurs 30 minutes to make their first shot of the game.
The hosts are now just three points away from being in the top seven while Spurs might extend their gap to the top four with seven points till the end of the weekend.
